Arabic Facts

Arabic was integral during medieval times, exporting to Europe many important cultural, artistic and philosophical documents

In written Arabic, nouns have three different cases and two genders; they can be singular, dual or plural, and unlike European languages, nouns also have a state - 'indefinite', 'definite' and 'construct'

Derived from Aramaic, the Arabic alphabet goes from right to left, and there are many variances between the Middle Eastern version and that adopted by the West

Louisville

As Kentucky's largest city, Louisville is famous for hosting the Kentucky Derby - 'the most exciting two minutes in sport'. Named after King Louis XVI of France, around 700,000 people call Louisville home. While the population is primarily composed of white, native English speakers; the city is one of the central educational districts in the area, with several universities and many other post-secondary schools. These resources make it an excellent place to start studying a foreign language, even if it's likely you'll only get to use your skills outside city limits!
